Devlog #2: Major Changes
TubeWorld » Devlog
Over the past 2 months, our team has made some major changes to TubeWorld! We've overhauled the graphics entirely and almost completed the level design for the game world.
We are aiming to release a playable demo by late August, it will be available to play in browser. Stay tuned for that!
Added features:
- New enemies (giant spiders)
- New sprites for everything
- Barriers across the map
- New quests
- Sfx and ambient music
- More items/abilities for the character
- A abilities panel on the bottom
- An audio visualizer to help detect enemies outside the field of view
- PC animations for the beam cannon attack
- A spaceship area where the PC respawns upon death
- New fonts for in-game text
Removed features:
- The grid overlay - replaced with dithered floor tiles
- The minimap - now that the level design is done, there will be landmarks in the level to help guide navigation
The core objective is still the same as the jam version: to collect resources, but now there's a twist to the main quest!
For comparison, here are a few before and after images.
